I talked about my idea to use a set of My Little Ponies for this photoshoot to Christoph and, as I noticed his failed attempt to hide a raising brow, I actually thought: “damn, it does indeed sound pretty tacky!”
But my gut feeling told me to go for it anyway. The more I thought about it and the more I came to believe that flirting with something objectively trashy could have resulted in the total opposite: an edgy, editorial-wannabe session. And, after months of feeling like I needed to step my game up as a photographer, and actually not doing really much about it, what did I really have to lose?
Marcelo and Pipa immediately seemed excited about the idea, and proved my point as soon as the first session and the posing started. Perks of shooting with two professional actors, I guess! I honestly couldn’t hold my excitement back throughout the whole photoshoot. Ideas kept on flowing and their chemistry, due to years of friendship, made everything extremely playful and fun.
