Determined, independent, dynamic, smart, creative and beautiful in every possible way, this Colombian señorita is one of the people I’m lucky to call friend.
Been following each other for years on Lomography, we finally met in person two years ago in Cali (Colombia) and immediately clicked. Last year in June, Kathe came over to Berlin for a long weekend from the South of Germany, where she currently lives and studies. In between margaritas, long talks, heaps of food, dance floors and glitter, we made the most of the warm late afternoon light and took a few portraits around the colonnade and garden of the Altes Museum.
Saying that Kathe’s timing was bad would mean being generous.
When she came over my emotional status was more than messed up, and, sadly, or funny enough – you choose -, hers was too. Maybe that’s why, even if we hadn’t seen each other for a long time, and actually, back then, weren’t even that close, we found it so easy to open up and show how angry, vunerable and confused we both were. Others might just say that our Italian/Colombian “slightly” dramatic nature surely gave us a rock steady common ground…
